It has been proved that smoking is one of the major risk factors of having a cardiovascular related health diseases and issues. Smoking is actually one of the leading causes of death in the US more then 447,900 people are dying each year in the US because of smoking and 35 percent of them are because of cardiovascular related illness.

One of every 5 smoking related deaths are caused by cardiovascular related disease, women that are over the age of 35 who smoke and take oral contraceptives are at much more risk of developing a cardiovascular disease more then women who do not smoke and take oral contraceptives, smokers are 4 times more likely to develop coronary heart disease more then non smokers.

Smoking also doubles the person risk of stroke and effects the cardiovascular system in many ways including the cause of immediate and long term high blood pressure and an immediate and a long term increase in heart rate another thing is that it reduces the amount of oxygen that is transferred to the body’s tissue and it almost changes the properties of your blood vessels and allows cholesterol and other thick substances to build up when there is high blood pressure and when more fatty substances start to build up this means an increased risk of blood clot and the reduced amount of blood flow out to the brain.

Studies had shown that more then 38,000 deaths are caused each year by heart and blood vessel related disease that are caused by second hand smoking. Children who are more exposed to tobacco are mainly the children who will suffer from ear infection, asthma and other related diseases the following symptoms may occur when a child is exposed to second hand smoke:
• Irritation in the eyes, nose and even throat
• Coughing
• Chest Pain

If your child any of these symptoms then I advice you to go and see a doctor as soon because the sooner the better it can be treated.

The best way to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease is to quit smoking, quitting smoking can help you in both ways mentally and physically and it can improve your overall health quitting smoking requires a good plan with exercise before quitting and having a plenty of sleep the best way is to quit on the right time when you are stress free the best time is holidays it is the very right time for people who are willing to quit smoking.
