Many people who stop smoking do suffer from some weight gain in the short term, but it’s really not something that should worry you or sway you from your targets, because it’s really your choice whether you end up eating more or not, just don’t let food (or snacking) become a replacement for smoking. One reason why some people gain weight when the quit smoking is that their taste buds start working again after being dulled by smoke inhalation!, Food tastes so much better that it’s tempting to eat more. Once you understand why food tastes better then it’s easier to control your food intake and re-control your weight once you have the smoking habit kicked firmly into your past.
