day 7 - a week without smoking

Image via Wikipedia Good Morning! Well I am not sure that it’s so good as I think I have a touch of the “Monday Morning Blues”. Being back at work after the weekend is enough to wipe the smile off anyone’s face! However what a great weekend it was… and if I do say so myself I did very well!
That’s right… I am still a non smoker! Despite a weekend of white wine and the odd shot (or two) of Sambuca I did not succumb even once to the temptations of the evil tobacco!
I think I surprised everyone, possibly even myself. I wasn’t sure I would do it… You know how it is, a few drinks and all your friends dashing in and out of the bar for their nicotine fixes I just knew it would be so easy to give in and just have a drag, after all I have attempted to give up before and that’s always happened in the past) I think my previous record for giving up was about 36 hours!). However this time I stood strong and kept my fingers well away from them ‘cancer sticks’.
I don’t honestly know if it’s just that I am more motivated this time or whether it’s just that I am more informed but something has given me the will power to go through with it. I think it’s to do with my knowledge; This time around I’ve really done my homework, I’ve read, re-read and read again most of the articles on this website and I have the E-Book I downloaded from here last week saved to my desktop, so if I ever feel my motivation slipping I turn to one of these and remind myself exactly why I want to be a non smoker and how well I am doing so far!
Anyway I am onto week 2 now, so we’ll see how it goes… I’ll keep you updated!!
Wish Me Luck!
Joanne
