Drink lots of water and tea helped for me, relaxed me.
Also do some exercises routines especially when you’re craving for a smoke. Do things to keep yourself busy. Take it easy, talk to people around you, perhaps they won’t try and stress you out.
Also this was without any nicotine replacement. So you can do it.
Remeber smoking is NOT an option and you’re mind won’t even have that temptation as much.
    Good luck : )

Everyone is different, but the mind DOES make associations with things. For example: if you always have a cigerette when you have breakfast, there is an association. The hardest time for most smokers is when they smoke when they do something else. One of the best ways to stop smoking, is to BREAK the association of smoking. Everytime you want a smoke, bite a lemon – this makes the association UNPLEASANT, and helps you modify your behaviour. Try to associate smoking with negative things, rather than good things. Don’t try and replace it with a lollie pop or gum, because you’re not telling your body that ‘it’s NOT okay to smoke!!”
    goodluck!

I used the Allan Carrs ‘Easyway to Stop Smoking’ and it worked!! And to be honest I was highly, highly skeptical that it would, having been a hardcore smoker; 20 a day for 15 years… but I knew two friends of mine who’d read it and it worked so reckoned it was worth a shot – that was almost two years ago and I’ve not looked back – it was easy too :)
Seriously, if you really want to give up I’d really recommend it – costs about the same as a packet of fags anyhow ;)

I read a book. Sounds strange I know and I didn’t think it would work.
I’m advocating this book because it worked for me not because I’m making money from it or anything.
The easy way to stop smoking by alan carr.
    worked for me!!

I started smoking for a very stupid reason. when i was in college some guy was smoking next to me. Stupid me thought i would try one and that would be that. Boy was i wrong. i came home for Christmas and my dad warned me that i would get addicted. I just did not listen. I have smoked on and off for the past 9 years. My doc gave me a new drug called chantix. you keep smoking while you take the first pack of of the drug (i think its 10 days) and than you stop smoking, but keep taking the pills until you are ready to stop. My advice for those who smoke or are thinking about it. DONT even have one cig.. once you do you are hooked and for those who already do smoke. STOP. i know its easier said than done, but you will feel better, you will smell better and most of all..you will live lot longer.

Buy the book “The No Nag, No Guilt, Do It Your Own Way Guide to Quitting Smoking” by Tom Ferguson. It is extremely informative, easy to read, and stuffed with different strategies to quitting smoking.

the number one way to stop smoking is simple. just don’t. seriously, most people who stop do just that, they stop. anything else just drags it along and most are efforts to make money off your weakness. don’t buy cigarettes. don’t bum cigarettes. basically don’t touch cigarettes. this is a 100% effective method to stop.

I just went to the doctor for assistance on quitting smoking on Monday. He poo-poo’d the patches because they limit your nicotine intake. Once you put a patch on, that’s all the nicotine you get. He suggested the gum. He said that you can pop in another piece of gum as you need it. Where as with the patch, you’re stuck with what it gives you. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I quit with nicotine gum and replacing smoking exercise. I also woud tell myself, what’s stronger: The addiction or myself?

  16. tanyaah3 Says:

COLD TURKEY & EXERCISE!!! that is your best bet! fastest and safest. I smoked for 20+ years and have been smoke-free for 3!! In my opinion, nicotine patches postpone the inevitable withdrawal…so just get it over with. It only lasts a couple of days. The whole thing is alot easier than you think, not to say that it is easy, but it is certainly do-able!
