I have been wearing a patch, but not ready to go solo I have tried nicotine patches in the past as recommended, but failed to stay away from smoking, I get past the nicotine cravings, but the psychological side of it gets me all the time. Wearing a nicotin patch has really worked, but how long can I safely wear it for?

you can safely use nicotine replacement for the rest of your life if you need to. Just be aware that using the patch and smoking can be harmful in that you over dose on nicotine and then you can be in danger.

I used the patch for the time period it states – but I would wear one patch for 24 hours and then right after showering I would place another one on and take the old one off. This is because I spent many restless nights without a patch on and I would CRAVE a cig bad in the morning. So wearing it all night seemed to help me overcome this problem. Wish you luck in your quitting smoking – it is such a costly, nasty habit that I’m glad I’m now smoke free!!
