The doctors and researchers say your body will metabolize all the nicotine in 72 hours of the last nicotine dose.
You may or may not have withdrawal symptoms after 72 hours. There is a lot of damage and disordering of your body and brain that has been done by the smoking and it will take some time to heal and recover.
What is important to keep in mind is that whatever you experience, it is good. No matter how it may feel, remember that it is a sign of healing, no damage is being done, and it is only temporary.
Rewards are very important now. Every cigarette not smoked deserves a reward. I understand that may not be possible, but one or two rewards a day will do the trick. Rewards don’t have to cost much, or anything at all. They just have to make you feel good about yourself and your quit.
Congratulations for quitting smoking. It is a wonderful gift you have given yourself and those who care about you.

when i quit, it seemed to take about 3 days to stop feeling really lousy, then about a week & a half to feel like myself again.
take a multivitamin, plenty of water & fresh juice, and hang in there!
remember, if you happen to slip up, ONE cigarette doesn’t mean that you’ve started again. it just means you slipped up. tomorrow is another day to be smoke-free.
also, keep taking smoke breaks! just don’t smoke – find something else to be a “break”.
