I Have Been Taking Buproban 150 Mg To Quit Smoking,...

and a doctor prescribed it to me but they are out of office until January. And it really ticks me off because I kind of sort of have a problem. Either the medicine has delayed my girl cycle or well… I could be pregnant? But I was online and I couldn’t find anything on buproban (probably a generic) and now I am a little scared to be 6 days later than ever!

are you on the pill? if you are on the pill and you didn’t get a period it is possible you got yourself pregnant. starting new meds can cause your pill not to work.
if you are not on the pill, here is my suggestion to you: starting a new medication can result in a delay of ovulation. This does not mean that you are pregnant. This simply means that you have not ovulated. If you are six days late, take a test to ease your mind. Then, in the next few days, you should see your period. Anything can delay ovulation from stress to meds.
If you are interested, I know of a great book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You can find it in the library. It will tell you what you need to know to decipher your body (and not have to use the pill). Either way, you need to relax (as hard as it is) because the stress can prolong ovulation.
Note on the electronic cigarette. I have one and I love it! and if you have any questions about those, I write a lot about them at http://www.e-cig.org.

I think you mean the generic “bupropion” or trade names Wellbutrin for depression and Zyban for smoking cessation.
You should find plenty in a search now :)
Edit: oops, didn’t realize there was a new drug approved… Buproban. Continue :)
p.s. still may get much more info researching bupropion

    Hey,
First of all, I would definitely get a pregnancy test just to make sure. Secondly there are a few companies that sell electronic cigarettes. I have been smoking for 7 years and I discovered the “eCig” craze that is just coming out. I have had mine for 4 months and haven’t bought a pack since. I highly recommend it as it contains nicotine, without all of the carcinogens which are in regular cigarettes . when you puff them, you inhale a “smoke like vapor” which not only gives you the complete satisfaction of smoking, but it has a mild sweet odor to it which does not linger on your breath or clothes. Its a healthy alternative… Plus you can smoke them indoors. Im not sure as far as nicotine and pregnancy goes, but definitely do some research as this has helped me greatly as to not smoke cigarettes anymore,
Check out the FAQ at: http://www.SmokeLiberation.com Good luck and definitely do your research!!

Buproban is a generic for Zyban for smoking cessation. I actually just started this today. YAY! I read all the directions & warnings etc etc. I dd see on there that pregnant women in their 3rd trimester should not take it. It really has no affect on the baby if taken correctly in the 1s and 2nd trimester. I believe smoking as a greater affect on the whole pregenancy so it is better to stay on it as I believe it will not do any harm this early in pregnancy. Yay for us for atleast “trying” to quit smoking! You go girl! :) Good luck to you!
