i just started working out like running…and i know if i stop smoking my endurance will go up – but ive heard that you gain weight when you quit smoking is this true?

The reason people gain weight when they quit smoking, is because when they crave cigarettes, they eat instead.
So basically, they replace the cigarette for food and whenever they crave it, they eat.
I think if you just rely on exercise when you crave it, it’ll do you justice.
So instead of eating when you crave smoking, exercise!

You only gain weight if you start to eat a lot to fight the cravings. A lot of people do tend to eat to overcome the cravings. However, others work out, etc. So, as long as you don’t start to double what you eat, you’ll be fine!

You will def benefit from not smoking so much! Maybe at first you will gain a pound or two, but once the difference comes in when you run you will lose even more weight. If you are looking to lose weight try not drinking sodas.

the weight gain is usually caused by people getting jittery from the lack of nicotine, so they eat junk food instead of smoking. you should be ok as long as you stay busy and eat healthy.
