It’s not bad to quite smoking cold turkey- though it might be a bit hard on you and your family because you may get mood swings from not getting your dose of nicotine. That’s how my father quit- Not that he had much choice at the time: He was in the hospital for appendicitis.

You shouldnt have started in the first place, nows a great time to worry about it, but to answer you yes you can get seizures and worse things, although for smoking you probably wont get anything worse than withdrawl sydrome. Siezures and other serious effects are more common with going cold turkey from drugs or alchoholism.

No it’s probably the most effective way to quit. And no, you won’t get seizures.

No it’s definetly not bad for you to quit smoking cold turkey, in fact its probably the best way to go about it. My father went from smoking 60 a day for 40 years to none just like that and ever smoked again. All of my friends that try to ween themselves off and cut down have invariably started full time again pretty quickly. Go for it! And good luck, it’ll be hard but you’ll be fine!

I doubt that you will get seizures, but if you are really addicted to smoking cold turkey is not the way to go. You should get on a program, use alternatives. Some programs will wean you off of smoking a little at a time, but getting on a program is the best way to stop.

Any way you quit smoking is a good way. Actually, cold turkey is probably the best way in the long run because you will have effectively deterred the psychological cravings all on your own so you are less likely to start up again.
While all that nicotine gum and nicotine patch stuff works, they could actually increase your smoking if you don’t do it right which will be even worse for you in the long run than seizures.

I know of 17 people that quit cold turkey. 9 are dead,3 have 1 lung left, and 1′s still taking chemo. I quit drinking, cold turkey, but I still have a high sugar intake.
