Is Nicotine Gum Dangerous? Can It Cause Cancer? How Do...

I want to quit smoking. I was thinking of different options besides the Rx route. I was wondering is nicotine gum dangerous as in cancerous? I know some people who just switched addictions from ciggs to the gum. Is it the nicotine that causes cancer or the other chemicals in cigarettes? What is the “healthiest” was to quit smoking…besides cold turkey.

   tobacco is what gives you cancer, not the nicotine. Also all the other crap. i would go with the gum or patch (gum taste horrible)

   I found the best way for me was, FOOD, and i ‘m not overweight now from it! in fact, i am about 52kg and 176Cm’s tall. Any way have a little healthy snack each time you crave, then after get into a 20-30 minute work out, shower so on. Then read a book to keep you re hands moving or draw so you cant hold the smoke but still doing something.
   I hated the gum, patches weren’t too bad use them with some sort of routine and that way you will be on the path to a healthier lifestyle.
   It does take time but you will get there. And just two more tips: chewing gum is good and try not to have that first smoke in the morning because you will find it starts the domino effect.

   force yourself to stop … if you get clammy or whatever chew gum or something that somehow provides comfort
   one way I heard
   smoke decreasing quantities of cigarettes
   ex. in a day you smoke 5 sticks you should smoke 4 in the next day 3 the day after and so on

   the price of cigarettes should make you quit smoking.it did me.quit over a month ago.5$ a pack in indiana.they crazy if they think im gonna smoke to pay for someone elses heathcare.
   just think of the federal government every time you want to light up and say your not getting my money.works for me
