Is Smoking Damage Reparable?
What is the benefit to stopping smoking. Will my lungs and heart heal? I’ve no cancers, nor any of the smoking related diseases… only the filthy addiction, and i’m workin on that. It’s just that it is bothersome, and it makes me irritable when i don’t smoke. But that is the side effect of quitting. But i need to know if it is worth it to quit. If there is no benefit, why do it?

If you quit completely. You will start noticing the change in about a week In five years your chances of getting a tobacco related cancer will be the same as if you never smoked. And yes your heart and lungs will heal completely it will just take time.

Your lungs will start to clear almost right away. You can start walking, but consult your doc before you get into any strenuous cardiovascular workout.

Yes , some damage will go away but I think you need to look at the benefits of not furthering anymore damage..What about your life and the people that care about you …..Do you ever think about that?

Smoking damage will repair at least partially. The older you are and the longer/heavier you smoked, the longer it will take, but it can heal completely. Regardless, most of the healing will occur in the first year or so and you WILL feel the difference. Don’t worry about if “all” the damage will heal, just concentrate on quitting. It’s the best thing you can possibly do for yourself.

as long as you quit for good.. your body will heal itself.. the lungs are the hardest tho… but sooner or later as long as you dont smoke again they will be fine
