. I just looked it up and there is a urine test. I just put in “nicotine test” and the were a lot of options at a glance I didn’t see about how long it has been in your system. Look them all up and see what you can find. LOL does you mother know you smoked and have given it up? Or you told her never, never,!! also it depends how much you smoked and time. like 3 a day or a pack a day. This is my motherly advice to you.Give it up it is not cool and then your mother can trust you.when you answer my little questions I will be back with advice

Cotinine will be detectable in urine for 2-4 days.
For those of you who don’t believe there is such a thing as a urine test for nicotine, how do you think insurance companies determine your rates? Smokers have much higher life and health insurance rates, so if asked they would lie and say they were non-smokers to save a few hundred $$$ each year. So insurance agents urine test you. This is how:http://www.quitsmoking.com/drugtests/tob…
Now, if you’re going to stop smoking for this test, you’re close to half way done with the whole nicotine withdrawal thing, which takes about 72 hours. If you can go 72 hours without a cigarette you may as well quit, you know what I’m saying?

No. Nicotine stays in your system 48-72 hours. If the testing it done by, let’s an insurance company, then they test for cotinine, which is a byproduct of nicotine. Cotinine has a 20 hour half-life. Drink plenty of OJ, as it helps break down the cotinine faster. I was able to pass one after quitting for 6 days.

Nicotine has a short half-life (2-4 hours) so often it is not detectable after 24 hours. Cotinine, its major metabolite, has a half-life of 16-19 hours so it usually is detectable for 4-7 days, depending upon amount of consumption.
