I have been smoking for 17 years. I smoke about a pack & half a day. So what is the best thing you have used to help you quit this habit?

http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/ is a new approach on quitting. The site is designed for everyone who seriously wants to stop smoking without gaining weight nor using any medication, and it’s free.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a five a day teenager, or a one hundred a day pensioner, male or female, or if this is your first or fiftieth attempt at stopping – if you really want to stop smoking then this is the site for you.”

I never smoked. But 3 people really close to me used varied ways to stop smoking forever.
My father…..had to have a heart attack after 48 years of smoking 3 packs a day. At age 63 the heart attack scared him to stop smoking cold turkey. He’s still alive today 20 years later at age 83 after quitting altogether. He was a bear to deal with the first 3 months, but it worked. He disciplined himself to just not smoke cigarettes because he wanted to see his grandchildren grow up.
Another one of my friends was able to use the Nicotine patches with great success. He still has that oral fixation to put something in his mouth, but he throws a 5 calorie piece of gum rather than food in his mouth and if he really needs to think about smoking, he heads to do a workout.
My other friend who quit successfully used Chantax. With Chantax you keep smoking but the drug eventually makes the cigarettes taste bad. It took her the full 3 months on the drug which is about $100 a month, but she stopped altogether as well. One side effect she talked about was having bad dreams. She actually stopped smoking pretty much in the first month, but the doctor said the best results he had seen were from those who stayed on the meds for the whole 3 months and kept smoking a few cigarettes to remember the bad taste.
The biggest thing, no matter how you try to stop, is that you really want to stop. Your body will be so much better off for it, and you will live a much better life. You just have to decide what type of person you are and what is going to work better for you. Just don’t turn to other vices in the meantime.
I wish you luck.

hi cyclones
i smoked for over 40 years.. tried every way to quit that i could find .. was able to quit using the nicotine anonymous program… meetings are available in most large citys.. as well as a number of meetings online.. you are welcome to participate, before you quit if you wish..the exchange of ideas, with others who have been there, seems to help when other methods fail

Try E-Cigarettes. I’ve smoked regular cigarettes for 8 years and I’ll never go back. This is the new craze for quitting or an alternative to smoking. It’s so much more healthy for you, you should do your research on it. If you have any questions feel free to ask me [email protected] or get more information http://ecigarets.com

Ween yourself off is the best. Cold turkey will just drive you back to smoking, because it will drive you crazy so fast, you’ll want one, and you’re hooked again. Just start off with a number, and work your way down each week until you hit zero.

you can go on the patch i no that helped my mother wonders, but if you cant afford it, then try going without a cigarette for three days.if you can push yourself to go that long, then you can quit for good.
