What Are The Effects Of Nicotine On The Environment?

It concerns me that smoking in public places is being banned throughout the UK (and I believe in parts of the USA) but the government is considering constructing nuclear power plants which has to cause more harm!! So, my question is: What is the effect of nicotine smoke on the enviroment?
Serious answers only without bias towards or against smokers.

Smoking in public does a little damage to the environment, but it does a LOT of damage to the public and other non-smokers. That is why it is being banned. I agree when it comes to the environment, nuclear power plants do far more damage than cigarettes, but they are slowly being banned everywhere to protect innocent people’s lungs.

Smoking cigarettes creates a variety of environmental problems. The effect is has on humans and pets is probably the most detrimental because of the toxins in the smoke. The smoke can discolor anything it comes into contact with and also leaves a foul odor. Cars and homes of smokers can become devalued because of the smell.

In its pure form it is a rapid acting, extremely toxic drug, that has often been used as an agricultural insecticide. Indeed, there have been reports of gardeners who have died from handling nicotine, and their death from respiratory failure occurred within a few minutes.
