What Do You Think About The City In Ca Who Are Trying...

This law began to stop public smoking in a mulit-living residential area and has now branched out to the whole city of Belmont, CA.
This includes going outside the home, work, parks, restraurants, nightclubs, and even in your own car.
Family and friends choose to be with a person who smokes decipite the health issues and those that have choosen not to be around the smoke, well, most smokers will choose to take it outside.
It is already against the law to drive drunk, shoot people, do street drugs, etc… and it doesn’t stop them.

I’m in canada but we also have the smoking bans in most places, I was a bit angry at first about it (i’m a smoker) but it has actually helped me not smoke as much which is good!
If you were to light a ciggarette in a bar/night club here you would get a huge fine but the funny thing is if it was a joint you would get a way smaller fine.
I think it is a good thing but not smoking in your own place or car is kinda a violation of your privacy in my eyes.

I think it’s frightening to watch the government pick away at the rights of the individuals, one by one.

Well I am for it. I hate when I am walking down the street and I end up being behind a smoker. They are forcing me to inhale the smoke or hold my breath.
    It is uncomfortable and annoying.

i’m on both sides of this teetor totter….
on one side: i cant STAND to be in a public place trying to enjoy the day with my son and some yoyo comes around the corner blowing his nasty marlboro smoke in my breathing area! it’s IS rude and i think people who smoke SHOULD make a time and their OWN space to do it in…not in MY space.
BUT TWO: i am VERY against the government trying to tell me when and where i cant do something! one thing will lead to another thing as far as having our rights taken away from us….
maybe there should just be some kind of compremise
