What Is The Most Effective Way You’ve Used To...
I’ve been smoking for over 25 years. I smoke maybe 4 or 5 cigs a day, and I’ve stopped for 3-4 months at a time. But when the nicotine fit hits me, I can’t deal and start smoking again. What can I do?

Well I just stopped smoking, its been about mounth. What I did was I didn’t make a big deal about it. I finished my last pack and didn’t buy another one. I didn’t tell anyone until they asked. Because I didn’t want to disappoint people if I didn’t quit. When I didn’t have the pressure on me it helped me quit and I haven’t had a cravings. The first day was hard, but I made it through it. Good Luck.

I quit “cold turkey” but alot of friends used “the patch” to quit also keeping your mouth occupied by chewing gum works well too…sometimes it just takes a whole lot of willpower realizing that the craving will eventually subside

Quitting.

If you’re able to quit for 3 – 4 months then that makes this a difficult question. Of course the physical addiction is gone in that amount of time, so it’s definitely mental.
One thing I’ve recently learned is that the “calming effect” of cigarettes is not from a chemical reaction, but from the act of deep breathing. Is it stressful situations that trigger your relapse? If so, it may seem silly, but try 3 – 5 minutes of deep breathing when you feel the urge to light up.

try a piece of nicotine gum or nicotine lozenge instead.
