I wish I could give you an answer to your question but I will at least give you support. I too quit on the 23rd, the exact same day as you did.. And I would have to say today was the worst day! According to folks I know who quit smoking themselves the third day is the worst day of them all.. Stay focused on your goal and don’t give into the cravings. Believe me I know what your going through good luck to you!

I quit 2 or 3 times and I always go back. Bad nerves and life style. Keep it up. It’s worth the try since the prices are going up again. It’s not worth smoking these days.
Hope it works out for you. Just try to stay away from the smokers because that will hit you the hardest smelling the smoke.

I used to smoke two packs a day along with my wife. She tried to quit several times and I would go along with her, to give her social support, but she always would start back and things would return back.
Maybe, I had a better reason to stop since my two boys had already experimented with smoking at an earlier age.
Smoking is as much Psychological as it is Physical, so throwing patches at it will not help, completely! It won’t hurt, but can’t be the only technique, you should use.
Your body has been literal soaked (depending on how long you smoked) in Nicotine and all the other poisons in your blood, brain and hair and more.
Even, if you succeeded in purging your body of everything (after thirty days), your brain is used to existing on the ingredients of tobacco and you holding something in your mouth and lip, and you will still have to deal with your brain as well!
Keep a pin or a straw in your pocket, not to write or drink with but every time you feel the need (drinking a cup off coffee or watching your favorite TV show) Pretended You are Smoking , (works better when your alone, but you could get away with the pen in your mouth). I used to think that even pretending to smoke would prevent me from completely quiting, but it helped me get through the hard times and pretending isn’t habit forming! It worked!
Smoking, caused your metabolism to increase, so stopping will slow it down and you will find falling to sleep easier then before and waking much easier (because your body no longer has to repair as much damage, when you sleep). Make sure and drink atleast two large glass of water a day, because dehydrating will make it easier to become depressed and that’s when you want a cigarette, the most.
Also , practice deep breathing exercises. As you heal you will be able to breath deeper and the more oxygen your body gets the better you will feel and react to sudden urges to go back.
Also remember that to stop smoking you have to do it for “You” first because it’s to easy to convince yourself that they don’t mind, if you continue, to smoke. And because, your mind is in control of everything you do, feel, taste and believe, it is very difficult to argue with!
    Good Luck!

For me it was the first week. Each day was soooo hard. The second week was much easier. I think it was the fact that i accomplished my fist smoke free week and i just built on it from there. I just know now that when i want a cigarette i remember that i would never want to go thru that first week again. You have made it 48 hours and that is a great accomplishment you can make it another and another. I would never have believed that i could quit and really didn’t even want to. My Doctor suggested that i try Wellbutrin and it worked really well for me.
Most of my friends have been very successful on the patch. I went with Wellbutrin because my insurance covered it and not the patch.
OH, by the way it has been 6 1/2 years and i still marvel at the fact that i was able to quit
You will to I can feel the determination in your question
    Good Luck
