Well that would all depend on how much you eat. You are 15 and have been smoking for 6 years already!! You need to stop, don’t worry too much about your weight. Try chewing gum and drinking water when you are craving for a cigarette. It is really important for you to stop the smoking, and this is coming from a filthy smoker. You know what I need to stop too.

I know several people who have not gained weight once they quit smoking. However I have heard that some can expect a weight gain of approx. 5 pounds within the first 6 months of quitting

stop smoking–one tends to snack more………..
don’t—
food taste better….and one who stops one habit tend to seek another to replce it…eating is what most do…
use sugarless candy to stop craving and sugar less drinks/beverage.
exercise more to burn off that extra energy spurt you get from feeling “better”
tar.nicotine leaving body and lungs getting air vice pollution from smoke……
congrats on stopping—your life gets longer each day now instead of shorter…
and smell better also..
you see—you smell some clothes hanging in closet from last winter ect… wow smoker-like char coal grill,

It varies a lot. At 15 you might not gain any weight, because you’re still growing and your metabolism is still high.

I am confused
Smoking………. 6 years and your 15 – you started smoking when you were nine?
Your 15? If all of that information above is true you are going to be putting weight on any way. And how much could you of smoked a day – Not all smokers automatically gain weight, it is usually the ones that were smoking 1 1/2 pack and up per day

You don’t have to put on any weight at all. Just don’t eat when you feel the urge to smoke. try excising instead when you feel like smoking. Chew gum, drink lots of water. Best of luck, you can do it.

You won’t gain too much since you’re young and active. Keep exersising as usual, play sports and go to gym. Eat regular meals and you’ll be fine.
Good Luck & Take Care.

Just do not use food to replace the habit of smoking. If you can do that, you can easily control the amount of weight you put on. I quit and did not gain weight. I just found another way to ‘catch my break’. Usually, any weight gained is temporary. Quitting smoking does affect you metabolism. At 15 your metabolism should be high enough that if you maintain your current activity level and follow the aforementioned advice, you should be fine.
Good luck, I smoked for 20 years, finally quit and thankful for it.
