For starters, there is a direct link between cigarettes and lung cancer. You can give yourself lung cancer, or a loved one even if he/she doesn’t smoke (both of my grandmothers died w/ lung cancer & neither smoked, but both of my grandfathers did). You also will get sick more often and for longer periods of time if you smoke. And smoking is a cause of irectile disfunction.
If that isn’t enough, your appearance will suffer. Your skin will turn ashey, your teeth will be yellow & rotten looking, you will age much faster than if you did not smoke & you will always smell like an ashtray despite the best purfume.
And the only person that benefits from you smoking is the cigarette companies. Can you think of any benefits to smoking?
For your benefit, and your loved ones, I hope you don’t smoke, or stop smoking.

Well besides getting Lung Cancer, emphysema, maybe diabetes. It stinks, most smokers don’t notice but us non-smokers do. My wife smokes and I have been trying to get her to quit. I used to smoke and my main thing was being short of breath and stinking, plus I didn’t want to be sick when I get older. The main reason I quit was my kids, kids admire their parents and if you smoke the odds are on them smoking although that isn’t always true. Truthfully you are going to have to be the one that decides if you should quit.

  4. CrueltyI Says:

Smoking-related diseases kill more than 440,000 Americans every year.
Smoking causes 87% of all lung cancer cases and most cases of emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
    Respiratory Problems, including:
lung infections — colds, influenza, pneumonia, etc.
chronic bronchitis — shortness of breath and chronic cough
emphysema — in advanced stages, emphysema can cause extreme difficulty breathing. Ordinary activity becomes difficult, if not impossible.
    Cancers, including cancer of the:
lung — fatal in nearly all cases
    larynx (voice box)
    mouth
    throat
    esophagus (throat passage for food)
    kidney
    pancreas
    cervix
    bladder
Heart Disease, which is a leading cause of death among smokers. In fact, smoking more than doubles your chance of having a heart attack. People who smoke are also more likely to have a stroke than people who don’t smoke.
When You Quit Smoking, You’ll Feel Better!
You’ll breathe more easily, and have more stamina. That annoying smoker’s cough should disappear too.
Your lungs will work better as harmful elements are cleaned out.
Your sense of taste and smell will improve, and your digestion may improve, as well.
Your heart won’t have to work as hard as it did when you smoked.
You may have more energy and a feeling of clear-headedness.
You may have more confidence, knowing you were able to break the habit.
You’ll save money you once wasted on cigarettes.
Your risks for both heart attack and cancer will decrease.
Others won’t be harmed by your secondhand smoke.

Because you could spend your money in other, more profitable ways than just burning it. And your lungs, throat, mouth and nose alongside.

Death by: emphysema, lung cancer, COPD,
Oral Cancer, throat cancer, and it gets expensive…
reduced oxygen intake, which puts strain on heart and lungs, and neagtively affects overall health…
inability to remove smoke smell from clothes, furniture, skin, hair.
rooms in home smoke stained, carpet smelling like smoke, draperies smelling like smoke, death of loved ones due to second hand smoke….

  7. Jessi-la Says:

Well, besides the obvious health reasons, smoking is just completely unattractive. I don’t want to come off as rude, but it’s really gross. I hate to watch people smoke. And the smell is terrible. I remember a while back all the ads for smoking…they would show all these sexy models smoking, and doing seductive things. Well, it’s so far from sexy. I’d never date anyone who smoked. It would be such a turn-off. And to put yourself at risk for cancer? I just don’t understand it. My mom has smoked since we were little, and I’m in my 20′s now. I remember going to school, and MY clothes would smell bad! I’d be so embarrassed, and I’d use TONS of body spray. Now that I’m older and have kids of my own, I’d never but them at risk from second-hand smoke, and the emabarrassement of smelling like that! Do yourself a favor…do whatever it takes to quit. You don’t want to be unsexy, smelly and have to worry about cancer, right? Nevermind the yellow teeth, nails and dingy hair and skin…the list goes on, my friend…

  8. princess Says:

    why shouldn’t you?

  9. notyou31 Says:

Because aside from the health risks, they make you stink.

  10. L Says:

Nah, you shouldn’t. We need more people who are silly enough to start smoking to just finish the job and kill themselves earlier. That way, all the ones whoo are foolish enough to make such a decision will kill themselves and their useless genes, and therefore doing a great non-contribution to the rest of the society and the gene pool. Keep smoking.

  11. jaredkby Says:

I am an EMT with a volunteer fire department. I run “breathing difficulty” calls all the time. And you can always tell the lifetime smokers. They are the ones who get out of breath from moving from their couch to the bathroom. They are the ones who take breathing treatments several times per day. They are the ones who have to lug around an oxygen tank where ever they go.
Thats enough to make me never want to smoke.

    smoke weed!

    Cigaretts kill.

  14. darth_ti Says:

Because smoking causes various diseases- like cancer, heart disease- turns your teeth yellow, leaves you stinking of cigarette smoke… quit now.

  15. Tones Says:

Because your breath stinks no matter what you do when you smoke cigarettes. No gum could hide the fact that your lungs are filled with tar. I am sorry, but that’s it.
Yeah, it’s like kissing an ashtray – actually

  16. seedo122 Says:

you get tar in your lungs and get lung cancer stop b4 its 2 late!!!

  17. 2 'til Midnight Says:

You should quit smoking because it: could cause lung cancer, makes you smell bad, makes you age more rapidly, yellows your teeth, decreases your lifespan, costs you a large amount of money ($ per pack, x #packs per week/month/year = big $$$), is unattractive… Shall I continue?

  18. Jimithy ™ Says:

I had my wife quit when we were dating. I hate the smell and I told her I wouldn’t kiss her while she smoked. It worked. I am the best thing to do to give up smoking. Yeah buddy.
