Healing from nicotine addiction is a process and there are lot of positive effects than one could imagine at the first thought itself. Let’s categorize it from the day you give up this habit.

After 20 minutes:

The healing process begins soon after 20 minutes and smokers feel really uncomfortable after leaving this habit. Blood pressure decreases to a greater extent and it is followed by the drop in the pulse rate. Body temperature will begin to increase.

After two to three weeks:

This stage is an important one since during this period circulation increases to normal and as a result lungs will begin to regain their normal function. Breathing problems like bronchitis, asthma will begin to lessen or even disappear. Your senses of smell and taste will start working normally.

After one to nine months;

One can see significant improvements in coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath. There will be a significant improvement in eating and sleeping habits.
Thoughts of smoking may creep in and throw you out off balance if you’re not prepared for them.

After one year:

Excess risk of coronary artery disease is decreased to half that of a smoker after one year. You might be free from most of your side effects by now. You will be as normal as people who have never smoked.

Social benefits:

Quitting smoking means one can allot those expenses to the family. It also works on their appearances. After looking at all these benefits leaving smoking is indeed a good thing.

Quitting tobacco is the best thing you can do for your heart and for your health and for the health of those around you.
