Quit Smoking Log day 20, and some trail ends
nikitejay asked:
First, sorry that it’s so long!!! I can’t help myself! I hope it’s not too preachy. I’m starting to believe what they say about former smokers… I said FORMER!!! Ha ha! I’m still having twinges and pangs, so that’s not true yet! I’m still counting the hours.

I’m not sure how that came out of me. I really don’t normally use that word. LOL!

Hey, thanks for stopping by. My last post was yesterday. Visit my page. All my smoking vids are in my log. Thanks!

So, are you still not smoking? The last post was 1 month ago. You can see the difference between the first and last video.

Oh OH I missed that question! Yes it’s true!!! There is certainly room for improvement but I’d never want to have a baby or a serious illness if I wasn’t Canadian! (Not that I’d want a serious illness, LOL!) We don’t pay for anything. If I had a wish to make it better, it would be to be able to choose our doctors. Which currently isn’t that simple.

Well thank you Hallbe! Good advise, which I give myself daily!
After I saw Sicko, I wanted to move to France! Now THAT’S a health care system (amongst other things). Which reminds me. I’d really like to see that again…

I am so proud of you girl! I think shes got it!! I’m sure it will remain a struggle for a while. But, once you’ve made it this far, you just remind yourself that you won’t waist these days…And you go on.
I just watched ‘Sicko’ last night…
Is it true the Canadian helth care system is actally much better than Americans are lead to believe?
I think I want to become a Canadian if so!

Hi and thanks for stopping by. The answer to your question is a very long one, which YouTube doesn’t allow space for typing in an answer. However, the short version is no. I plan to address this in a future video, as I’ve had occasion to go out as you said. For now, if you watch my “Rant, Rant, Rant” video, that might explain a bit. Peace. Nikita. (p.s. and every day is a test)

what I would like to know though is,… When you go out with youre friends or youre husband to a bar or a niteclub or whatever…is/was it tough for you to resist…ye know…I mean surely the drink sways youre will power…or at least weakens it???

That’s so nice of you to say! Thank You!!!
And yes, he is proud and supportive. Though he does think I’m crazy for putting it all on YouTube! I say, roll with the times!

This is the best videos I have seen on quitting smoking. I hope you keep us updated. Your husband should be very proud of you.

Yoda would say: addiction you allow not!
You are getting better with making movies. Quite interesting and more creative every time. I think you should experiment with light, perhaps get some proper video light to get out the colors and sharpness.
…
I am very happy for you!

Oh, God, I hope so! My situation is exacerbated somewhat by my hubby who’s quittting slowly; at the moment he’s at three days (again), so I am re-living it with him.
The cravings persist, but I find I am getting better at resisting them as time goes on.
Like understanding that it’s not possible to have one cigarette.

There’s no such thing as just ‘one’. If that was so I’d have ‘one’ everyday! Oh, wait, that would be smoking again!
You quit quite a while ago and you still crave, even after all you’ve been through. Do you think it will ever become a distant memory?
November 29th, 2008 at 6:31 am
I know.
I’m sitting here thinking how much I want one. The thing is, I want only *one*, not a lifelong string of them: and they don’t come singly.

Thank you for the encouragement!

Honestly, I can’t say I ever actually read them before. When we smoke, we tend to be in denial…as you know.
Thank you for the congrats! I want a cigarette right now, however, so I just have to keep telling myself NO! I will not be a slave to addiction! … sigh.

I remember sometimes reading those warnings(while smoking) and yet the words did not reach my brain. Weird.
Congrats on day 20+.
