Taking in smokeless tobacco has harmful effects. Chewing tobacco will damage the gum tissue and loss of teeth may happen. The taste and smell sensitivity is reduced. They also contain chemicals which can cause cancer and the cancer may be in the mouth, larynx and esophagus etc.
Cigar and Cigarettes:
Which is more dangerous? Cigar smoking or Cigarette Smoking
Cigar smoking is less dangerous than cigarette smoking. Why it is so means, about 75% of cigar smokers are occasional smokers. The exposure to the poisons present in cigar is smaller than in the cigarette and the possibility of disease is also lowered.
1. Tobacco content: In a single cigarette less than a gram of tobacco is present. In a cigar, tobacco content is in between 5 to 17 grams as the size varies.
2. Cigars are more addictive: the nicotine amount in a cigar is many times greater than a cigarette. Cigar smoke is more alkaline than cigarette smoke.
3. Cancer: Cigar smoking leads to different cancers, mostly in the oral cavity. Cancer may be in lip, tongue, larynx, throat etc. Cigar smokers have a higher risk of lung cancers and also cancer in the pancreas and bladder.
Some tips when you would like to quit from Smoking:
When you try to quit, a very common side effect is sleep disturbances. You should not become addicted to smoking again, here are some natural remedies to get rid of some physical discomforts.
1. Have a massage: Try to give a full body massage otherwise try massage on the neck, shoulders, face and scalp for 10 to 15 minutes. Avoid smoking and lead a disease free life happily and you get nice deep sleep.
2. Music: Listening to music relaxes the mind and it helps to have a good sleep while quitting from smoking.
3. Drink a glass of warm milk: Put a little cardomon or nutmeg along with a little honey in the milk and drink. This gives good sleep because this is rich in the amino acid L tryptophan which helps the body to produce neurotransmitters like serotonin.
4. Some exercises: Before to bed try to give your body a small walk for about 15 minutes and this gives sleeping. Otherwise give your body a long walk for a few hours.
5. Reading good books: Lie in the bed and read some good books not less than a few pages then automatically you will close the book and sleep deeply.
