Once they become addicted then they have greater risks of death due to lung cancer, heart diseases and emphysema. Adult smokers have the problems of menopause, impaired reproductive capacity and accelerated osteoporosis.

Generally smoking is injurious to health and when a pregnant lady smokes then the baby’s birth weight and baby’s brain development are affected. The baby has the risk of SIDS, behavioral problems and also hyper activity. Children are also affected by diseases such as bronchitis, pneumonia and asthma which are all chronic respiratory illness. When the parents smoke then the children are affected by passive smoking.

When you smoke a cigar, cigarettes or pipes then immediately you get nicotine. When you chew a tobacco then also you get nicotine. When you increase smoking, the effects of nicotine each day will be large. When a person is addicted to smoking it is likely he will have increased anger, hostility and loss of social cooperation. It takes a long time to retain emotional equilibrium.
Along with nicotine a cigarette smoke is composed of around a dozen gases including carbon monoxide and tar. Generally for about 15mg for a normal cigarette has the tar and tar gives the risk of lung cancer etc.

3. Chronic tobacco user will have dramatic changes in the brain’s pleasure circuits while withdrawing. Thus it is similar to the withdrawal from drugs like cocaine, heroin, amphetamines etc.
